One of the most difficult things to capture in traditional art is the impression of movement within a still image, and we found someone who is more dynamic in single pieces than you’d experience in an actual animation.
French artist Heyjay Art has been on an absolute tear for months now crafting powerfully impactful Street Fighter and Dragon Ball works that leave you feeling as though you’re right in the middle of the action.
Starting out with the Capcom side, Heyjay created one of our new favorite representations of Akuma’s Raging Demon ever with the powerfully mad fighter appearing as though he’s grabbing M. Bison’s face and shoving him into a dimension of absolute pain.
Like many longtime fans of the series, Chun-Li’s fight against Vega in the Street Fighter 2 animated film remains one of Heyjay’s favorites, so of course he beautifully captured Chun’s desperate Spinning Bird Kick to knock back her would-be assassin.
On the Dragon Ball side of things, they also seem to be quite the fan of Gohan with multiple works highlighting the growing fighter’s biggest moments against Raditz, Android 18, kicking a Cell Jr. in half and landing some painful blows against Super Buu.
If you enjoy these dynamic pieces, we highly recommend checking out Heyjay Art’s Twitter or Linktree pages to see even more and / or give them your support.
