December 17, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – Masked up protesters disrupted the evening for some with their “Anti-CEO” noise demonstration outside of Yale CEOs Leadership Summit at Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattans Theater District.
Protesters could be heard chanting “Free Luigi and You’re next” to attendees as they entered and left the event in New York City.
We talked with one of the demonstrators who said “You know the theme of the event tonight is the roaring 20s. In the roaring 20s there was a lot of wealth and inequality, just like now. So while they’re drinking champagne and thinking about glamour, we’re thinking about the people that we love who are poor, who are sick, and who can’t afford healthcare.”
The demonstrator went on to state that their message to the CEOs attending isn’t about hate but about love. “This is really about love. This is about love for our parents as we take care of them as they go into their old age. It’s about love for our children, and it’s about love for our community.”
