Francis Ekpo: From Tourism Advancement to Powering Rural Communities

Mr. Francis Ekpo is a distinguished son of Yahe in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State. A man whose public service career reflects vision, discipline, and commitment to the progress of his people. With a deep sense of responsibility to society, a passion for selfless service, and a firm belief in the fear of God as a guiding principle, he has steadily built a reputation as a dependable and result-oriented administrator.

Over the years, Mr. Ekpo has held strategic positions in government, each marked by measurable impact and institutional strengthening. As a Commission Member of the Cross River State Carnival Commission, he contributed to enhancing one of Africa’s most celebrated Street Party, supporting efforts that positioned Cross River State as a premier tourism destination.

He later served as Special Assistant at the iconic Obudu Ranch Resort, where he played a role in promoting tourism development and improving the visibility of one of Nigeria’s foremost leisure destinations.

Mr. Ekpo’s administrative depth became even more evident during his service as Director General of the Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau. In that capacity, he championed transparency, fiscal discipline, and accountability in public procurement processes.

Today, as the Director General of the Cross River State Electrification Agency, Mr. Ekpo is at the forefront of driving sustainable power solutions across the state. Under his leadership, the agency is working tirelessly to expand electricity access, particularly to rural communities.

Beyond public office, Mr. Francis Ekpo is a devoted family man, happily married to Victoria and blessed with children.

In every role he has occupied, Mr. Ekpo has demonstrated that leadership is not merely about holding office, but about creating impact.
