Manchester United have attempted to pull in some extra firepower up top following the signing of Joshua Zirkzee.
The Red Devils currently only have Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund as senior strikers, leaving little room for options if injury was occur.
Unfortunately this seems to have happened, with Hojlund picking up an injury in United’s opening game of their pre-season tour of the States against Arsenal.
The striker limped off in the 16th minute, with veteran defender Jonny Evans commenting it seemed to be linked to his hamstring.
Now, attempting to provide more options in attack, United have made an offer to another strike target playing his trade in Serie A.
Serie A striker’s rejection of United
AC Milan striker Francesco Camarda has recently snubbed an offer to move to Old Trafford.
Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that United we one of a number of teams, including Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, who have tried to sign the 16-year-old.
Francesco Camarda has recently been promoted to the senior squad after coming through the youth academy at AC Milan. While in the youth squad, the Italian striker has wracked up 14 goals and five assists in 44 games.
After joining the senior squad, Camarda has made two fleeting appearances totalling 12 minutes against Fiorentina and Frosinone.
Reports from Football Italia claim that the striker has signed a new three-year deal with AC Milan, securing his future at San Siro.
