Manchester United are on the hunt for midfield reinforcements this summer, looking to strengthen the squad against injury and rejuvenate the squad from some key assets that are likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.

It’s been widely reported that with Casemiro not quite at his best any more, the Red Devils are looking to offload the player, with alof of interest coming from the Saudi Pro League which could see the Brazilian linking up with his two-time teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Similarly not quite at his peak anymore, Christian Eriksen is entering his final year of contract meaning that United may be looking to sell on the Danish international in order to avoid losing him for free next season. Although he may be leaving this summer, Eriksen will not be moving to Saudi Arabia, expressing recently that he has no interest in the league what so ever.

In place of these veterans of the game, United are looking to bring in some quality replacements that fit with their new transfer policy of being under 25 with plenty of potential for years to come.

With this in mind, new reports from France are highlighting another young midfielder who is getting interest from United is Youssouf Fofana.

Le10Sport is reporting that the Red Devils are currently looking at the 25-year-old who has announced he wishes to leave AS Monaco and move to the Premier League instead.

The French international has been a key player for Monaco since he arrived from Strasbourg in 2020 for €15 million after winning the French League Cup. Now, four years and 175 club appearances later, Fofana is ready to part ways with Monaco, feeling he wants to take a step forward in his career.

Already having represented the French squad eighteen times, Fofana is surely looking to use his call up to the Euros in Germany this summer as an opportunity to show himself off to Premier League clubs like United to seal his move to the English league.
