Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Drive factors such as Safety, Quality and Productivity, to ensure objectives are met through following and executing standardized maintenance work.
- Verify that the assembly facility is running safely and consistently with minimal maintenance impact.
- Ensure PM/CM/EM are done with integrity and quality and Facilities are maintained to the standards.
- Execute maintenance tasks and assignments in area of responsibility.
- Support, drive and raise Kaizen’s (Continuous Improvement) projects to improve equipment uptime and availability.
- Meet and implement MOS standards and processes and achieve output targets of JPH, TTT, MTTR, MTBF and PM/CM completion.
- Support and develop short term actions through the Paynter processes and reviews.
- Develop weekend work plans and ensure spares and consumables are available to complete scheduled tasks in responsible areas.
- Basic administration of maintenance documents for corrective actions resolution
- Ensure Integrity in work tasks undertaken and identify improvement opportunities.

- Reduce breakdown Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
- Increase Equipment MTBF
- PM completion ratio of > 97%
- No Open Work Orders > Three months
- Develop and implement short, medium and long-term improvement plans for implementation within the automated systems and equipment.
- Take responsibility for investigating and introducing new engineering technologies and strategies with continuous monitoring of equipment using FIS.
- Undertake root cause analysis and ensure Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA’s) are implemented.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
- Fault finding ability, Electrical and Mechanical
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Siemens S7 and Allen Bradly PLC fault finding and programming skills.
- Kawasaki BX, MX, ZX series Robot fault finding, repair and programming skill.
- HMI –Win CC Scada, Allen Bradley Panel View fault finding ability.
- SEW – Drive fault finding and programming skill.
- Robotic welding experience (Resistance/MIG).
- Good Behavioral Skills

- Read mechanical and electronic schematics to ensure specifications, adherence to standards is met.
- Troubleshoot equipment, ensure correct linking and error logging to individual pieces of equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic and digital controls systems, experience to test, and writes modifications in multiple languages of systems software (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Rockwell).
- Strong understanding of conveyors system programming and body tooling techniques, in addition to networking understanding, Ethernet, remote IO, Profibus and Wireless Networks.
- Fault Finding and Continuous Improvement Execution and Implementation
Qualifications and Experience
- National Diploma or degree: Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical/ Automation Engineering
- 5 – 10 Years Automation and Maintenance Experience Preferably in the Chassis/Body Construction Assembly Field
- Experienced with a number of systems, expert in at least one area and working knowledge of a number of other areas of specialization.
