The 2024/25 Premier League season has so far been a mess for Manchester United fans to witness.
Erik ten Hag departing a squad built over £600 million, to the hands of Ruben Amorim has been a harsh task.
United must focus on smart recruitment rather than simply signing big-name players for huge fees.
Amorim’s 3-4-3 system relies heavily on balance across the flanks to function effectively.
The team urgently needs a left-footed player to bring balance and quality at the left wing-back position.
One target who has become well-known to United fans is Patrick Dorgu.
The latest development being that the Red Devils have submitted an offer for the wonderkid.
However, there may be a plot twist, with four Italian clubs pushing for his signature too.

According to multiple reports in Italy, Lecce’s director of football, Pantaleo Corvino, is in Milan for talks with four Serie A clubs interested in signing Patrick Dorgu.
Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Dorgu’s agent is also expected to join the meetings.
Juventus, Napoli, Inter Milan, and AC Milan are all vying for the 20-year-old’s signature, according to Monday’s updates.
United are also of course, pursuing Dorgu and could ramp up their efforts considering other clubs’ interest.
Dorgu’s agent, Kingsley Ogbodo, is based in Manchester, making discussions convenient for United.
The versatile Dane, who earned his first Denmark call-up in 2024, can play multiple roles across both flanks.
He began his career at Lecce as a left-back but has also featured as a wing-back, midfielder, and right-winger.
The left wing-back role in Amorim’s system is of huge importance.
Diogo Dalot has been tried and tested in that position but the experiment has only failed.
Dorgu would very much prove to be an upgrade in the long-term for the Red Devils.
