The Ini Ememobong Foundation has gifted the University of Uyo’s best-graduating student, Toroabasi Etim N250,000 cash prize.
Etim, who studied Mechanical Engineering and graduated with an overall CGPA of 4.82 was recognized by the University with a cash prize of N30,000, a development that stoked mixed reactions.
Winning several scholarship awards during his undergraduate studies, Etim also made a perfect 5.0 CGPA not once during his student days.
Reacting to the development, the foundation which is run by the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong announced the award in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
Ememobong, hosted the genius and his parent, appreciating him for his feat with N250,000 which he said was on behalf of the state government.
Etim had earlier during the convocation thanked the University for being “more than just a place of learning,” saying it had been an experience that deepened his passion for engineering and shaped him personally.
