On Monday, August 8, the annual Ashura march took place in Toronto, the march is billed as a Shia Islamic event to commemorate the death of Imam Hussien. However, it has been frequently accused by many of having links to the regime in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the march, Salman Sima, who was a political prisoner subjected to torture and solitary confinement by the Islamic Republic, showed up to peacefully protest the march due to its alleged connections to the Iranian Regime. He brought a two-sided sign that read “Islamic regime threatens Canadian national security” and “Human rights for Iran”. Two relatively non-controversial opinions.
Human rights advocacy is generally approved of across Canada and the Regime in the Islamic Republic is open about the fact of being a security threat as their openly stated goal is world domination and the destruction of the West.
