Footage of Mortal Kombat 1's upcoming Thanksgiving-themed Fatality has surfaced

NetherRealm Studios faced a bit of backlash for their special Halloween-themed Fatality in Mortal Kombat 1. The finisher itself is cool enough, however, to get it players would have to shell out the equivalent of roughly $10 USD just to access it.

The company announced just yesterday that more holiday-themed Fatalities are coming to Mortal Kombat 1, including a Thanksgiving and Winter finisher, and to compensate for the steep pricing of the Halloween Fatality NetherRealm is going to give the two upcoming moves to those who purchased the Halloween one free. Ahead of its release, it appears data miners have managed to get ahold of the footage of the new Thanksgiving Fatality and have now shared it online.

PC modder thethiny appears to have dug up the full Fatality footage and has since shared it on social media. Similar to the Halloween-themed finisher before it, the footage of the Fatality has leaked early, only this time we get to see it in what appears to be the PC version of the game as opposed to the Nintendo Switch version.

This means the graphical fidelity is more detailed here, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. It’s good because what’s presented here is the highest quality version of the Fatality, but it’s also bad because… this finisher is pretty hard to stomach — literally.

With this Thanksgiving Fatality, the character who performs it sets a large table with food for the holiday on it in front of their opponent. They walk over and grab their foe by the head, slamming their mouth into the edge of the table which essentially unhinges their jaw.

The opponent is then sat down and force fed various Thanksgiving foods until ultimately a whole cooked turkey is shoved down their gullet. With the victim being knocked to the ground and now having a massive bloated belly from all of the food, the aggressor jumps and stomps on their stomach causing the opponent to projectile vomit upward until their brain and eyes explode, I guess?

It’s definitely one of the stranger Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1, but I suppose it does indeed fit the Thanksgiving theme.

This Thanksgiving finisher doesn’t appear to be available in the in-game store just yet, however, it sounds like it will be available next week as the official Mortal Kombat X (formerly Twitter) page noted that the Seasonal Fatalities bundle will be going live then. It is also unclear how much the bundle itself or each individual Fatality will cost at this time.
