For Street Fighter’s first real guest character, Capcom seriously went all out with Terry Bogard’s recent addition beyond even just the star of Fatal Fury himself.
We already took a look at some of the cool input Easter eggs Terry has in Street Fighter 6, but Desk also just dropped a nice video going through a bunch more SNK references that can get pretty obscure.
The combo maestro starts out with a quick montage that shows Blue Mary sitting with a drink in the Pao Pao Cafe 6 just like she did in old Real Bout days as well as a very funny reference where Kim flies by, which he breaks down later.
He then treats us all to some fun interactions you can recreate now in SF6 from SNK vs. Capcom: SvC Chaos with Terry facing off against the Shotos.
Another fun Easter egg on the new stage features the breakable barrels on the left side that contain a bunch of little chicks similar to Fatal Fury Special, which appear to be some of the chickens that Duck King is known to raise.
There’s also more going on with Blue Mary in the background performing some of her win poses as well as singing on stage with the Final Fight crew, which appears to be a callback to the special “Blue Mary’s Blues” music video
The flying sprite of Kim appears on the stage too only during the final round with 20 seconds left on the clock, which is also what happens at the same time in Fatal Fury Special on the train stage.
And that’s all only in the first half of the showcase.
So we’ll let Desk himself take you on the full trip through SNK and Fatal Fury history as it’s presented in Street Fighter 6 with side-by-side comparisons and explanations of their origins.
