Florala (4-2, 1-2 1A Region 2) will conclude a three-game road stretch with a pivotal region contest at Kinston (2-4, 1-2) on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m.
This will be the 37th matchup between the two teams since they first met on the gridiron in 1988. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 20-16 against the Bulldogs.
“Kinston is a well-coached football team. Coach (Rudy) Free does a great job with his system, and the kids know it well. They are coming off a big homecoming win and are tied with us in the region. If either of us has playoff aspirations, we must win the game Friday night. It is a huge game for both teams,” Head Coach Kyle Davis said.
Last week, Florala dispatched Bayshore Christian on the road, 45-14. Kinston trounced Samson at home, 63-27.
“I felt the Bayshore game was our best overall game we had played all year. The offense was finally able to execute the majority of the night, and the defense was able to get a lot of stops. We got to play a lot of kids, and that is always good to get young kids experience,” Davis said.
The Wildcats routed the Bulldogs, 53-3, on the road in 2023.
