Sanna Marin, Finland’s prime minister, said on Wednesday that she had tested positive for COVID-19. While her temperature had risen and she had taken a home test that came back positive, Marin, who is 36 years old, tweeted late Tuesday night that her symptoms were not serious.
As a result of her recent strenuous travel schedule, the Prime Minister recently conducted several home tests, all of which came back negative. This year’s annual summer cabinet event was held at Marin’s residence, according to Finland’s national radio station, Yle, on Tuesday.
Yle later reported that an all-party debate on Wednesday afternoon addressing the acceleration of emergency law reform would go as scheduled, despite initial speculation that the prime minister’s agenda would be altered. Marin recently returned from a trip to Washington, DC, where she spent several days.
