Job Summary
Our client is a non-profit organisation with the aim of enabling wealth building through the provision of business and entrepreneurial development.
The organization is seeking a passionate, skilled, and experienced Finance and Investments Manager (chartered Accountant) to play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization in line with its mid to long-term strategy. This role has the responsibility for overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, tax management, risk management and investment management.
The ideal candidate will also be a member of the Management team and a key collaborator, providing financial expertise and guidance to the finance and fundraising committee, management team, and program staff across key divisions.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage all financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Develop and manage monthly and annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditures and ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
- Develop relevant KPIs, analyze financial data, identify trends, and prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors, Finance and Fundraising Committee, and Management.
- Manage and oversee investments, ensuring optimal returns while upholding the organization’s ethical investment policies.
- Cultivate relationships with key team members to ensure appropriate budgeting and reporting for grant-funded programs
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure prompt commencement and completion of financial audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax agencies and other key regulatory bodies including necessary reporting, filing and compliance standards
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with program staff to provide financial analysis and support their budgetary needs.
- Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and accounting standards, adapting procedures accordingly within the NGO industry and in line with global leading standards.
- Lead or oversee the work of the finance team.
Job Requirement & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or any relevant finance-related discipline from an accredited university.
- A professional certification (ACA, CFA, ACCA) is compulsory.
- Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience with at least 2-3 years managerial experience.
- A non-profit or development sector background would be a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in financial modeling and analysis software particularly Quick Books.
- Experience with investment management or a strong understanding of investment principles is highly desirable.
