FIFA president Gianni Infantino has sent a congratulatory message to Rangers International FC of Enugu for their success in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Rangers International FC clinched the 2023–24 NPFL title with one game to spare after defeating Bendel Insurance 2-0 in their final home game of the season at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and then beating Gombe United 2-1 away.
Infantino, who has led FIFA since 2016, congratulated the Flying Antelopes via his Instagram story. “Congratulations Rangers International FC on being crowned 2023-24 champions of Nigeria,” he wrote, resharing an official image of Rangers.

Rangers secured their eighth league title, their first since 2016, on a dramatic match-day 37. Key defeats for Remo Stars and Enyimba against Sunshine Stars and Sporting Lagos, respectively, played crucial roles in sealing the championship for Rangers.
Under the guidance of coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, Rangers adopted an assertive approach in their decisive match against Insurance. Kenechukwu Agu opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, and Chidiebere Nwobodo extended the lead in the 65th minute, securing the victory.
Rangers will represent Nigeria in the forthcoming CAF Champions League, hoping for a successful campaign following their NPFL triumph.
