Fergus2k8 has released a new tier list for Tekken 8. As opposed to his recently released traditional tier list and ease-of-use tier list, this tier list is designed to indicate which characters are in need of nerfs and which should be buffed.
Needless to say, all 33 fighters have been divided up into one of four tier categories — the “execute” group, the “tone down” group, the “leave them” group, and the “buff a little” group. To be clear, the “execute” group means that these characters should be executed by nerfs.
According to Fergus2k8, Azucena, Dragunov, Jun Kazama, King, Ling Xiaoyu, and Feng are the fighters most in need of nerfs. What’s interesting is that Devil Jin was previously noted to be a top 5 candidate by Fergus2k8, but resides in the “tone down” tier group this time. This probably has something to do with Devil Jin having a higher difficulty curve than the other fighters in the execute group.
Fergus2k8 has indicated that he’d like for Eddy Gordo, the latest DLC fighter to join the Tekken 8 roster, to be left alone for the time being. Other characters that are generally perceived to be fine include Kazuya Mishima, Jack-8, Victor, Claudio, Raven, Kuma, and more.
Only five characters are said to be in need of buffs. These characters are Leroy, Asuka, Steve, Panda, and Zafina. These combatants have traditionally been at the bottom of most players’ tier lists, though it’s interesting to see that Fergus2k8 isn’t suggesting buffs for Kuma as well.
