Nigerian athlete, Favour Ofili ran a season best time of 22.24s to win her heat and book a spot in the semi-final of the women’s 200m event on Saturday, August 4.
Ofili beat Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith and Gambia’s Gina Bass-Bittaye putting her in overall second place only behind USA’s Gabrielle Thomas who ran 22.20s.
Ofili is participating in her first Olympics.
