There’s never really been a better time in the fighting game community for those who love some hard data and player information, which I’m definitely here for.
To help close out 2023 and kick off the new year, AlietteFaye recently put together a couple of charts and stat breakdowns for which Street Fighter 6 are seeing the most / least play across different regions of the world and more.
This might come as a shock, but Ken is the most played fighter across every region taken into account here including Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, North America and Oceania.
His usual title of the “cooler” Shoto will often earn him some bonus points, but it also helps that he’s really strong in SF6 too.
The global chart shows it’s not even close either with Ken players making up 11.74% of the online base followed by 8.09% for Cammy and 7.99% for Ryu.
Here’s an updated global chart and a quick overview of character popularity between the regions. The latter’s green/red numbers are shifts from the previous time I recorded them a little over two months ago. Ryu is right behind his bro at number two, however, in every region except for Asia where he’s sixth and Cammy is the runner up.
No matter the place, those three, Luke, Juri and Marisa are right up near the top though there’s one perhaps a bit more surprising.
Zangief is actually as high as fourth in Oceania, and the big grappler doesn’t fall below seventh around the world while Dhalsim is at the very bottom across the board.
Despite being arguably the strongest in the game, JP isn’t higher than 11th in any region and is actually outnumbered by Jamies everywhere.
They also included spot changes from the last time the numbers were crunched though there’s not a ton of shifting going on aside from Juri jumping up multiple spots in three different regions while Lily rose up three herself in Asia — perhaps due to the success of Hibiki in Japan.
On the flip side, AlietteFaye also charted the percent of a each character’s playerbase that’s currently in Master rank in SF6 with some pretty different results.

JP is shining the most here with the highest percentage at 8.83% followed by A.K.I., who is notably much less popular like Dhalsim.
Although you’d think being the most popular would spread their bases a bit thin, Ryu and Ken aren’t in the bottom five in terms of percents.
The lowest of the low are actually Zangief, Manon and Juri interestingly.
Other characters with above average Master rates are Dee Jay, Dhalsim, Rashid, Blanka, Luke and E. Honda.
If you’re in need of more SF6 data in your life, Cat Cammy also recently made a big match up chart for all Master ranked characters that you should check out too.
