Fan recreates Mortal Kombat 1's character select screen in the Deadly Alliance style which impresses even Ed Boon

There are plenty of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance references contained within Mortal Kombat 1. However, it seems that one fan, The POor guy, has taken things a step further, which has caught the attention of Mortal Kombat cocreator Ed Boon.

The POor guy has recreated Mortal Kombat 1’s character select screen in the style of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Of course, it should be noted that only the characters from Deadly Alliance are featured on the recreation, so Liu Kang’s absence is easily noticed.

The characters that are playable in both Mortal Kombat 1 and Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance are Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Li Mei, Scorpion, Kenshi, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, Nitara, Kitana, Raiden, and Reptile.

As for Sonya Blade, Mavado, Kano, Frost, Jax, and Cyrax, they appear as Kameos in Mortal Kombat 1. Since they were playable in Deadly Alliance, they make an appearance of this character select screen as well.

Bo’ Rai Cho, Drahmin, and Hsu Hao appear in Deadly Alliance, but are currently not present in Mortal Kombat 1. Of course, it should be noted that Bo’ Rai Cho has seemingly been transformed into Madam Bo in Liu Kang’s new timeline, so we may not see Bo’ Rai Cho at all.
