Falconets Star, Kalu Joins Real Betis From Nasarawa Amazons

Falconets Star, Chinyere Kalu has joined Spanish side, Real Betis Feminine from Nigeria Women Football League side, Nasarawa Amazons.

Real Betis confirmed her signing on their website after Kalu signed a two-year deal at her unveiling on Thursday.

The 18-year-old is delighted to team up with Real Betis, and can’t wait to get started in Spain.

She said, “Thank you so much. I’m so excited. I’m happy. I’m very much excited to be here in Real Betis.

“I had a chance to speak with my teammates and my coach; they are so friendly to me. They welcomed me well and I’m very happy about that.

“I’m a creative midfielder and I’m here to support the team to give my best and to make sure we get there.”

Kalu was part of the Falconets squad at the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

She made an appearance as a substitute in a group-stage match against Canada.

She also had a stint with the likes of Martins White Dove FC, Osun Babes FC, Rivers Angels FC, and Nasarawa Amazons in Nigeria before joining Real Betis.

Kalu will join the likes of Rasheedat Ajibade, Monday Gift, Peace Efih, Chidnima Okeke in the Spanish Feminine league.

She will be hoping to make her debut for Real Betis when they take on Granada on Saturday.
