It is still very unclear who will be at the helm of Manchester United at the end of season as Erik ten Hag’s job has been in jeopardy all season with every bad result and performance compounding it even more.
The freshest of these hits was Monday night’s capitulation at the hands of Crystal Palace with The Red Devils suffering a shocking and embarrassing 4-0 drubbing.
As is the law in world football, if you don’t perform, you get replaced and ten Hag’s job is hanging delicately by a thread.
Top top managers have been linked with the job including the likes of Gareth Southgate, Thomas Tuchel and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi.
As Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirms, Champions League winning manager Tuchel would be more than happy to manage Man United.
The German tactician will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season bringing a close to the Bavarian giants first trophyless season since 2012.
A season most notable at Bayern for all the wrong reasons as they let the Bundesliga title slip away for the first time in over a decade.
On his Daily Briefing on Thursday, Fabrizio wrote how Tuchel would indeed be open to the prospect of managing United.
“There is no change on Thomas Tuchel as he’s expected to leave Bayern.We’re seeing him linked with clubs in England, but again there’s nothing concrete or advanced at this point,” he emphasized he definitely is still on his way out of Bayern who are scrambling, unsuccessfully so, to find his replacement.
“Still, for sure Tuchel would be more than happy to coach Man United even if they’re without elite European football – he would be really open to returning to England in general, he loved it there. So, it depends on the clubs, but he would be really open to that possibility of managing again in the Premier League, ” Romano concluded.
