Fabrizio Romano has revealed Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future at Manchester United after Ruben Amorim joins on Monday.
Van Nistelrooy will manage two more games in his interim role – tonight’s Europa League clash with PAOK and a Premier League game against Leicester on Sunday.
On November 11, Amorim will take the reigns and have a 13-day break to prepare for his first game away at Ipswich Town.
Van Nistelrooy has insisted that he has not spoken to the Portuguese manager yet, but wants to continue at United when he steps down as interim coach.

‘He was not lying. Van Nistelrooy never had any contact so far with Ruben Amorim. It is the reality,’ Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel.
‘It’s not just Van Nistelrooy speaking in public just to protect the relationship. No. There are no contacts ongoing.
‘And Ruben Amorim wants to make a decision in the next days on the staff and what he wants to do with Van Nistelrooy.
Amorim will bring five members of staff with him from Sporting CP to Old Trafford, including a sports scientist.
Whether there will be room for Van Nistelrooy in the dugout remains to be seen.
However, for now, there are no signs that the Dutchman will be heading out of the door when Amorim joins.
‘So at the moment, it is not guaranteed that Van Nistelrooy will stay at Manchester United as part of the staff with Ruben Amorim,’ Romano explained.

‘Van Nistelrooy said in public and in private that he’s open to staying is open to helping Manchester United in any position, but on Ruben Amorim’s side, he hasn’t called Van Nistelrooy so far.
‘And so there is a possibility to part ways between Manchester United and Van Nistelrooy, who was obviously part of the coaching staff wanted by Erik ten Hag in the summer.
‘So let’s see what happens there. But it’s not guaranteed, from what I’m told, that Van Nistelrooy will be part of the staff with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.’
Rene Hake is one member of Ten Hag’s staff that is expected to depart upon Amorim’s arrival.
Whether Van Nistelrooy will join him will likely be known in the next week.
