Manchester United has successfully completed the acquisitions of Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee this summer. Yoro, aged 18, made his first unofficial appearance against Rangers recently, while Zirkzee is set to join the squad in the United States after competing in Euro 2024 with the Netherlands.

In addition to these signings, United is actively pursuing a deal for Manuel Ugarte from PSG. However, negotiations for Matthijs de Ligt have been put on hold due to Bayern Munich’s high valuation of the player and United’s need to offload some current squad members.

Fabrizio Romano, among others, have disclosed that United is also working on securing a young talent regarded as a wonderkid. Chido Obi Martin, one of the brightest prospects in Arsenal’s academy, is looking to leave the London club after unsuccessful scholarship negotiations.

According to Academy Scoop, Obi Martin visited Carrington to discuss a potential move to United this summer. This report has been confirmed by David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, with the Manchester Evening News indicating that United is optimistic about finalising a deal for the 16-year-old.

Obi Martin had an impressive season with Arsenal U18s, scoring 32 goals in just 18 games, including six hat-tricks and a remarkable seven-goal performance against Norwich.

Romano has stated that United is “pushing” to complete the deal soon, with the player expected to make his final decision within the next few days. “Manchester United want to close the Chido Obi Martin deal and are pushing to get it sealed as soon as possible,” Romano wrote in his Daily Briefing. “Chido is expected to make his final decision in the next hours or days after visiting several clubs in the UK and Germany, it’s considered imminent.”

The potential signing of Obi Martin is seen as a significant move for United, with the young forward expected to be a key player in the club’s future success. Credit goes to Dan Ashworth and Omar Berrada for their proactive efforts in securing talented players early in the transfer window.
