Earlier yesterday, centredevils covered that Brentford manager Thomas Frank has emerged as a top candidate to take over at Manchester United if they decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag.
This is the most recent development in this unending saga of if ten Hag stays in charge and if not, who takes over.
While speaking on his Daily Briefing, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano commented on these rumours as well as clearing the air around United’s top job.
With regard to the Frank reports, Romano termed these rumours and reports as ‘too early’ insisting that is the case for reports like those for Frank and any other manager.
“We’re hearing more speculation about the Manchester United job, with Brentford boss Thomas Frank the latest name to be linked as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag,” Romano wrote.
What Romano was putting forward is that it is still early and no decision has been made on ten Hag.
“Still, as I always repeat about Manchester United – no decision has been made about Ten Hag’s position and we have to wait for that in order to understand what they will do with the new manager. There are many links but nothing will be concrete until they decide on Ten Hag,” Romano wrote.
The general feel is Sir Jim and INEOS will not make a decision until the FA Cup final at the end of the month
Romano concluded by praising Frank for his good work at Brentford while cautiously reiterating it still is very early for speculations like those.
“I like Frank and he’s done an impressive job at Brentford, but it’s too early at the moment to be talking about him or anyone else as a candidate for United. Let’s see how Ten Hag ends the season, with two more league matches and the FA Cup final still to come,” he concluded.
