Fabrizio Romano provides update on future of £104m Manchester United duo

Manchester United are navigating a tricky period in what has so far been a tricky season.

The Red Devils are finding it difficult to win consistently under Ruben Amorim.

United currently sit 14th in the Premier League table.

Hopes of finishing in the top six for European football, are quickly slipping away.

Numerous players are becoming under scrutiny for performances by fans and pundits.

Graeme Souness most recently, labelling Bruno Fernandes as a ‘liability’.

Fernandes is one amongst several players at the club whose future looks uncertain long-term

The Red Devils are expected to be busy in the January window.

Two players who haven’t been at the club long, have been subject to interesting speculation.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano spoke on Lisandro Martinez and Andre Onana.

Two players who have surprisingly been rumoured to leave the club.

Romano stated United are not looking at solutions for Martinez and Onana, at least for January.

The journalist also went on to state that the situation is completely under control.

Romano also added that there are no current discussions ongoing with any club for either player.

The duo were signed under the tenure of Erik ten Hag.

The signings were made in hope of transitioning Manchester United into a possession dominant side.

However United fans have seen nothing alike since.

Lisandro’s suitability in Amorim’s system has been a recent topic of discussion.

The left-footer hasn’t looked exactly comfortable in Amorim’s back three system so far.

However, talks of a future away would seem too early considering the makeup of the team.

The hierarchy hope that with stability will come the true quality of players who were signed for costly fees.
