Rumors have surfaced suggesting that Manchester United may reconsider a deal for Sergio Reguilon, as they face issues with their current left-back options.

Luke Shaw has returned from injury, but concerns linger regarding his ability to maintain fitness throughout the entire season.

Additionally, Tyrell Malacia has been out of action for over a year with no clear return date.

Fabrizio Romano’s update on Sergio Reguilon to Man United

Fabrizio Romano, in his column for Caught Offside, stated that Reguilon, who joined United on loan last summer but saw his stint cut short in January, is reportedly very interested in returning to Old Trafford.

It is reported that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sell Reguilon this year rather than arrange another loan deal.

Currently, Reguilon is reportedly not in the plans of Tottenham’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, and the club is prepared to let him go this summer.

The Spanish left-back, formerly of Real Madrid, could be a cost-effective solution for United’s left-back position under Erik ten Hag.

Despite Reguilon’s interest in returning to Manchester United, Fabrizio Romano noted that there have been no advanced discussions between Tottenham and United regarding a deal.

He stated, “What is important to say is that at the moment, there is still nothing advanced or nothing concrete between Tottenham and Man United for Reguilon. So nothing is really advanced on this one.”

Romano further added, “But in general, Sergio Reguilon was very happy at Manchester United. So if tomorrow, Man United decide to return for Sergio Reguilon, the player will be keen on the move.

“He loved his time at Manchester United, was a short time, but he was very happy with the club, with the tactical ideas and with all the points involved in Manchester United.”

Reguilon had a challenging period at United due to persistent injuries, making only 12 appearances across all competitions during his time at the club.
