Manchester United Erik ten Hag has been under fire virtually all season with the team grossly underperforming.
After every bad performance, more and more rumours swirl around whether he will still be at the helm next season.
Manchester United came away with a 2-2 draw against Liverpool over the weekend but it was yet another lacklustre performance from The Red Devils putting even more pressure on ten Hag.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now given an update on what he thinks the situation is for ten Hag at United.
Romano on his Daily Briefing reaffirmed he feels that Man United will still be patient and wait at least until the end of the season before making any major decision.
“Manchester United’s struggles on the pitch continue, but with Erik ten Hag I still think there’s the sense that they want to see how the season will pan out in the final weeks and then discuss internally, but I’ve always been hearing that the talks between Ten Hag and INEOS have been positive,” Romano wrote.
He also went ahead to mention how football at the highest level is all about results and anything could change.
“Still, obviously this is a results industry, so we’ll have to see how the team reacts to recent setbacks in the coming weeks, and in general I think this is an absolutely normal process,” Romano wrote.
More importantly, Romano did note that so far all the conversations have been positive.
“United want to keep monitoring the situation around Ten Hag, but so far the conversations have been positive and I’m not aware of anything close in terms of discussions with other managers.
“We’ll still have to be patient before getting a clearer understanding of what the manager situation will look like next season at Manchester United,” he concluded.
It remains to be seen what United decide to do about ten Hag and the results from now to the end of the season will be absolutely crucial in influencing INEOS’ decision.
