Manchester United outcast attacker Jadon Sancho has been doing quite well on loan at Borussia Dortmund with his latest triumph being getting to the Champions League final with the Black and Yellow.
He has been very instrumental in Dortmund’s run to the final at Wembley, their first final since they lost to bitter rivals Bayern Munich at Wembley in the 2013 final.
As transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his X account, Manchester United are set to receive a massive financial boost in add-ons to the loan fee from Dortmund for Sancho reaching the Champions League final.
Manchester United season particularly in Europe was one to forget but at least they now stand to gain something in form of extra money.
“Jadon Sancho’s loan fee set to rise again for Manchester United profit… and Borussia Dortmund will be more than happy to pay that extra amount, ” Romano wrote on his X account.
“Fantastic signings, Sancho and Maatsen on loan in January — now making it to Wembley for #UCL final with BVB,” he concluded.
What this points to is a a clause in Sancho’s loan contract that stipulates United will receive extra money in the event Dortmund make it to the Champions League final, something that was very unprecedented but both teams will come out winners.
In all honesty none of the parties would have dreamed of this eventuality as Sancho looked a player out of confidence at United, almost out of talent one may add, but he has since blossomed into the Sancho we all loved and remember from his early Dortmund days.
Man United still haven’t made a decision on Sancho’s future but ten Hag did confirm they have been keeping in touch with him all through the loan spell.
