Disgraced Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood who has been enjoying a fine loan spell at Getafe has been subject to lots of speculations over his future.

New Man United hierarchy in INEOS have a major decision on their hands with regard to the young Englishman.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that United’s decision remains selling Greenwood and cashing in on him as he is on his last year of his United contract.

“I already reported that Man United are prepared to cash in on Mason Greenwood and the situation hasn’t changed,” Fabrizio Romano said to CaughtOffside.

Greenwood’s resurgence in form may make that a bit easier for The Red Devils as he is averaging close to a goal or assist every other game with 14 G/A in 29 Spanish top flight appearances.

“Man United will wait for permanent transfer proposals because the priority is a sale in order to make profit for Financial Fair Play, although Getafe still hope to keep him on loan.” Romano concluded.

Manchester United are playing cat and mouse with FFP rules and as such, they will need to make major sales before they can kick off any new-era signings with Greenwood one of the sacrificial lambs as it would be.

A permanent sale would be the best possible outcome for all parties as Greenwood’s contract expires next summer which means United risks losing him for free if they don’t sell this summer.

It would also be the satisfactory in the eyes of the English public after that major public outcry when Man United attempted to reintegrate Greenwood back into the squad last year, after all the charges against him were dropped.

There is no denying Greenwood’s quality and it will be interesting to see who comes knocking in the summer.
