Anthony Joshua was angry and distraught in the ring immediately after his rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night in Saudi Arabia.

The Brit was unable to regain the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world titles as he was beaten once again on points, this time making headlines by reacting furiously post-fight.

The bout itself began with a few tentative opening rounds as Usyk applied his typical elusive movement and landed a couple of straight lefts while Joshua fired off right hands to the body.

The Brit gained confidence in the fourth as he became more comfortable landing consistently, and the action began to burst into life as the Ukrainian was forced to react.

After round nine, the contest seemed close as AJ opened up and fired away at Usyk, seeming to genuinely trouble him for the first time in either of their fights.

However, the Ukrainian responded masterfully with a dominant tenth which saw him on his way to victory.

He also appeared to win the final two, cementing the repeat triumph.

One judge bizarrely scored it 115-113 for Joshua, but the other two had it 115-113 and 116-112 for Usyk, crowning him the victor by split decision.

Joshua reacted angrily, taking two of Usyk’s belts and throwing them out of the ring.

He then engaged in angry exchanges with members of the Ukrainian’s team before storming from the ring.

Joshua soon returned to give a passionate speech with which many argued he stole Usyk’s moment.

Amid all of this – unnoticed by most – there was a moment in which Usyk’s fellow Ukrainian boxing star Vasyl Lomachenko attempted to console AJ.

Close-up footage has emerged showing the conversation as AJ began: “Respect me as a man, now I’m like anybody else.”

Loma replied: “You showed good boxing.”

To which AJ said: “F*** that s***, good boxing has to win.

“F*** that s***, f*** that s***.”
