Caitlin Clark and Connor McCaffery are more than just a couple. They’re a dynamic duo on the basketball court. Both have played for the University of Iowa, and their love for the game didn’t stop there. They’ve turned their passion into their careers, and boy, are they good at it!
April 15 was a big day for Caitlin. She’s not just any player; she holds the NCAA record for the highest overall scorer in Division I basketball. And on that day, she was named the WNBA’s first draft pick. She inked a four-year contract with the Indiana Fever.
Her first press conference with the team was emotional. “This is a dream come true,” she confessed. She couldn’t have asked for a better place to kickstart her career. She was joining a place that adored basketball, supported women’s basketball, and was known for doing things the right way. Plus, they had a championship pedigree.
On the other hand, we have Connor. He graduated last year, boasting the second-best assist-to-turnover ratio in NCAA history. Now, he’s a team assistant for the Indiana Pacers. But he’s not stopping there. His eyes are set on a bigger prize – becoming a coach.
In a 2023 interview with the Des Moines Register, he shared his work ethic. “It’s kind of all-hands on deck,” he said. His mantra? Be ready to do whatever you’re asked to do.
