Sam Taylor-Johnson and her hubby, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, might just be living proof that love is all you need. Really. They’ve been in love for 16 years now, and it all started when Sam, who’s now 57, directed Aaron, 33, in his role as John Lennon. That was back in 2009, in the film Nowhere Boy.
They’ve got everything they need. There’s their daughters, Angelica and Jessie, who are 26 and 18. They’re from Sam’s previous marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling. Then there’s Wylda and Romy, who are 13 and 12. They’re the girls Sam and Aaron welcomed before their 2012 wedding.
Sam recently described their daughters to The Hollywood Reporter as “four very strong, opinionated young women.” And that’s not all they’ve got. They’ve got a home base too. They moved to a five-bedroom, 16th-century farmhouse in Somerset, England after spending the COVID years in lockdown in the Hollywood Hills.
But the most important thing? They’ve learned how to ignore the speculation that started when Sam, then 42, connected with her 18-year-old star. Sam admitted to THR that the attention can be uncomfortable at times. But most of the time, they just zone it out and stay pretty private. They retreat. And having kids and doing school runs keeps them grounded.
