Today we’d like to introduce you to SafeHandles.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
SafeHandles was created about 10 years ago by Founder Steve Strombeck after he stopped to use a public restroom and saw the man before him not wash his hands before exiting. With no paper towels available, Steve refused to touch the dirty door handle and waited until someone else came in. He then squeezed through the door, avoiding the handle. That experience is what started SafeHandles and the world’s first self-cleaning door handle sleeve. Now, the antimicrobial company has a diverse line of self-cleaning products, all EPA-approved.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
With an original background in real estate, the idea for self-cleaning products was new territory for Founder Steve Strombeck. It took years of developing the right formulas, team, investments and proven research to launch what is now today installed all over the world. What you see today is not the journey it took to become a globally successful company.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
SafeHandles developed the world’s first self-cleaning door handle cover, and now, it has self-cleaning elevator button covers, self-cleaning shopping cart handle covers, push plate covers, and self-cleaning pens. Not only are the products EPA-approved, chemical-free, non-toxic, and recyclable, but they also last up to six months, keeping common touch points in facilities and homes clean 24/7. A lot of competitors have shorter shelf lives or are coated with chemicals. When SafeHandles is installed, it does the job quietly while you work, vacation, shop, etc. There is a self-cleaning product for just about any scenario.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Start a business that solves a problem and helps people. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, people have a heightened sense of cleanliness and care about their health now more than ever before. SafeHandles helps people all over the world slow the spread of the Human Coronavirus, as well as help businesses, schools, hotels, and many other facilities reopen safely.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
To SafeHandles, success means making the world a cleaner place. The team truly cares about the health of the world, continuing to develop revolutionary products that clean 24/7. Success would be seeing SafeHandles installed in airports, cruise lines, public transit operations, office buildings, government facilities and any place that recruits large amounts of people at one time.
What’s next for you?
SafeHandles is officially in six countries and has plans to expand into more. The team has reached about two million installments. With that momentum, more self-cleaning products are in the pipeline, so expect to see more launched in the future.
