The child had a phone that was her mother’s old phone. Sgt. Al McGraw said there was enough evidence on the phone to send him and Investigator Aaron Rodriguez of the Covington County Sheriff’s Office to Prattville to confront the girl’s mother.

The mother gave consent for officers to use her phone and Facebook identity, which officers used to set up a meeting of the mother’s boyfriend with the mother and daughter at the Sunset Inn in Andalusia.

The man did travel to Andalusia Wednesday, where he was arrested and charged with traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, a Class A felony.

Breton Etroy Brown, 55, of Milton, is being held in the Covington County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

Police Chief Paul Hudson commended McGraw for his work and expressed appreciation to the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, ALEA, and the Covington County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance with the case.

Sgt. McGraw said the investigation is ongoing. The child remains with friends, and has a DHR safety plan.
