Ruben Amorim will be disappointed to hear that some European heavyweights are preparing to approach one of his star players at Sporting CP.
The Portuguese manager has already communicated his interest in bringing some talents from the Primeira Liga with him to Old Trafford.
One of them is striker Viktor Gyokeres, who bagged a hat-trick in Sporting’s last game against Manchester City.

However, The Sun report that some Champions League clubs are set to fight United for his signature, including Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.
The paper writes:
‘Chelsea and Arsenal are set to join Manchester United in the battle to sign Europe’s most in-demand player Viktor Gyokeres.
‘He could follow his current boss Ruben Amorim to Old Trafford – with United chiefs willing to pay the £63m it would take to sign him.
‘But Sun Online has learned the Swedish superstar’s advisors are pushing for a move to a club in the Champions League.’
Since Chelsea are not competing in the Champions League this season, one can only assume that Gyokeres would only leave Sporting next summer, ruling out a potential January move.
The Blues have had a strong start to the season and are poised to fight for the top four spots in the Premier League.

The report went on to mention that Barcelona are also interested in Gyokeres as a long-term striker replacement.
However, with their struggling financial situation, they would have to raise funds to afford him, by selling current players at the club.
‘Reports in Spain claim Barca believe they could strike a cut-price deal worth around £50m-£60m by offloading Vitor Roque, currently on loan at Real Betis, in a player-plus-cash deal.
‘Barca reportedly view Gyokeres as a long-term replacement for 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski.’
