Britain’s head of state, King Charles III has urged the Three Lions team to consider the health of their supporters back home ahead of their final clash against Spain on Sunday.

England earned a last-minute 2-1 win over the Netherlands to qualify for the final of the competition despite trailing in the first half.

Southgate’s men have formed the habit of leaving it late in the competition, putting their supporters under pressure.

The team needed a last-minute equaliser in the second round clash against Slovakia, and a penalty shootout win over Switzerland in the last eight before another nail-biting late winner against the Netherlands on Wednesday night.

Aston Villa forward, Ollie Watkins came off the bench to score a 91st minute winner for England.

Britain’s number one citizen congratulated the team for qualifying for the final while also encouraging them to consider the collective heart rate and blood pressure of the citizens in the final.

King Charles III said: “My wife and I join all our family in wishing you the warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the UEFA European Championship – and in sending our very best wishes for Sunday’s match.

“If I may encourage you to secure victory before the need for any last minute wonder goals or another penalties drama, I am sure the stresses on the nation’s collective heart rate and blood pressure would be greatly alleviated! Good luck, England.”

King Charles III is expected to be in Berlin on Sunday to support the Three Lions against Spain as they aim to end their trophy drought.

Southgate’s team came under scrutiny for their slow start to the competition with disjointed performances in the group stage before finding their feet as the competition progresses.
