The leadership and stakeholders of Etung Local Government Area have unanimously reaffirmed their endorsement of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, for a second term in office.
This reaffirmation was made on Sunday, 5th January 2026, during the 3rd Edition of the Etung State Constituency New Year Stakeholders’ Engagement Session, hosted by the Member representing Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Evang. Hon. Kingsley Ntui Isong.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Kingsley Ntui Isong used the occasion to further demonstrate his commitment to grassroots development and people-oriented leadership by distributing over 1,500 bags of rice alongside cash gifts to the people of Etung Local Government Area. He also officially launched the 2026 Etung State Constituency Tertiary Scholarship Scheme, with scholarship forms distributed to all ten (10) wards of Etung LGA through the respective ward caucus party leaderships.

The event attracted an impressive gathering of political leaders, traditional rulers, party executives, and stakeholders across the Local Government Area. Prominent among those in attendance were:
• Prince Ebuta Ayuk, Leader of Etung Politics
• A former Presidential Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
• Hon. Henry Njah, Chairman, Etung Local Government Council
• Ntufam Hon. Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk, Commissioner for Health
• Eric Ntui Ndifon, APC Chairman, Etung LGA
• Elder Jerry Ajoghe, APC Secretary, Etung LGA
Others present included:
• Ntufam Hon. Gabe Odu Oji, Pioneer Chairman of Etung LGA and former Commissioner for Water Resources
• Former Chairmen of Etung LGC: Ntufam Hon. John Oru Etta, Ntufam Hon. Godwin Etim John, and Hon. Dr. Kuti Inok Ebak
• Former Members of the Cross River State House of Assembly: Hon. Christian Achor Agbor and Hon. Ogisa Okongor
• Victoria Egba Njah, Community Relations Officer for Etung

Also in attendance were numerous former Councillors, including Hon. Victor Orok Ebuta, Ntufam Hon. Bassey Agbor Njor, Hon. Inyang Ogar, Hon. Williams Agbor Mbu, Hon. Buggy Akuba, Hon. Mary Eba, and Hon. Tony Okorn Etuk, as well as former Vice Chairmen Hon. Patrick Enagu Okorn and Hon. Emmanuel Enya Bazo.
Other dignitaries present were Dr. Barry Ntui Tabe, serving Supervisors of Council, political appointees, and party faithful.
The traditional institution was well represented by the Paramount Ruler of Etung, His Royal Majesty, Ambassador Anthony Ntui Etta, alongside other clan heads and traditional leaders.
The event, which turned into a mini carnival, was marked by jubilation and widespread appreciation from the people of Etung, who praised Hon. Kingsley Ntui Isong for his consistent culture of responsive representation and people-centered leadership—bringing smiles to the faces of his constituents and reinforcing their confidence in his leadership.
In a show of unity and loyalty, leaders of the cocoa-rich Etung Local Government Area used the occasion to sing solidarity songs in support of the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to mobilize total support for his re-election bid in 2027.
