Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been under fire all season on account of the terrible season the Red Devils are having.
There has even been numerous report of ten Hag’s job being at risk and the latest of these is Dutch journalist Marciano Vink who is of the same conviction.
Vink who is an ESPN analyst, agrees that indeed ten Hag should be fearing for his job although a return to Ajax as previously rumoured was unlikely.
The Independent had reported that Ajax, who are in something of a managerial and structural crisis would be keen to give Erik ten Hag his old job back, early last month.
Speaking to Thursday Night ESPN, Vink mentioned United were certainly in the market for a new manager so ten Hag’s job is definitely at risk.
“What is certain: United is very much looking for a new coach”, Marciano Vink reports to Thursday evening ESPN.
“How he gets the news, he leaves in the middle. But they are orienting and also have conversations. They are busy.” he concluded.
Vink also went ahead to strongly advise against a ten Hag-Ajax reunion, terming it as ‘something you should never do’. This in reference to leaving The Netherlands to coach overseas, then returning to The Netherlands to coach.
“No, you should never do that,” he says. “A trainer is in a certain category. You go abroad from the top of the Netherlands. In that category, you can take a step sideways. But I find it a bit difficult to return to Ajax, the club you came from,” Vink stated.
