Ermac and Mavado Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer revealed

NetherRealm Studios has returned with a brand new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1. This new showcase features the latest main roster DLC character, returning combatant Ermac, as well as Kameo Fighter Mavado.

Instead of just character intros here, this new gameplay trailer shows us what these new fighters can do in kombat.

Ermac fights using the souls of fallen warriors to aid him. He returns with some of the classic maneuvers we’ve grown to love him for, including his own flight and the ability to lift opponents up through sorcery and slam them down into the ground.

As we all expected, Mavado jumps back into battle with his unique weapon at the ready. He fights using elastic whips with hooks on the ends of them, which allows him to throw them out very swiftly and essentially grapple to the position on screen where the hooks landed, which comes into play in interesting ways with his new Kameo move set.

In the trailer, we see some of Mavado’s assist attacks. They include an incredibly quick strike from above that acts as a combo extender, a slide that ends with another whip attack, and even a landmine that shocks the opponent in place when they get too close to it.

Fans are also given their first look at Ermac and Mavado’s Fatal Blow, as well as one of Ermac’s Fatalities. If you stay until the end, you’ll also catch Mavado’s Kameo Fighter Fatality too.

The trailer unveils when these new characters will become available. Players will be able to get their hands on Ermac via early access on April 16 and through standard launch on April 23, while Mavado’s release will follow in May.
