We already knew that Erik ten Hag was given the green light by Sir Jim Ratcliffe with the INEOS owner deciding to keep the Dutchman at the club following last season.
The decision to stand by ten Hag concluded the two week post-season review following the Red Devils’ 2-1 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup Final.
This being the Dutchman’s second trophy in two years seemed enough to keep ten Hag in his role at least for another year.
However, it’s now confirmed that negotiations for a new contract have gone well, with the Dutchman putting pen to paper on a new deal.
The new contract adds an extra year on for ten Hag seeing him remain at Old Trafford until 2026, with United invoking their right prebuilt into the contract to extend by a year.
Ten Hag is set to be joined by Go Ahead Eagle’s current manager Rene Hake, and ex-United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy as the coaching team set to build United back to their former glory.
