After a fortnight long post-season review, Sir Jim Ratcliffe ultimately decided to stand by Erik ten Hag, deciding he’s still the man for the job at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag’s focus now will be on preparing the squad for next season, undertaking a bit of a rebuild project to strengthen the team to achieve a higher finish than this season’s eighth.
With such an epic task at hand, ten Hag will need a strong coaching team around him to deliver on returning the Red Devils to former glory.
Now, sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed who’ll be stepping up as the Dutchman’s second in command.
The current Go Ahead Eagles manager René Hake is all set to join Manchester United as the new assistant coach.
Hake has been in charge at the Eredivisie club since 2022 when he moved from FC Utrecht.
The move has definitely appeared to work in favour of Go Ahead Eagles, with the club finishing higher and higher up the table since Hake has taken over, from 13th to 11th and this season finishing in 9th.
The report continues that ten Hag and Hake with be joined by another fellow countryman in the form of United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy is also confirmed to be joining the club ahead of the next Premier League campaign.
Talk of the prolific striker returning to Old Trafford has been building in recent weeks, with the Dutch international previously being linked to Leicester and Burnley, however it appears that Manchester will be his home once again.
