Manchester United’s decision to part ways with Erik ten Hag last year signaled a new direction under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Despite winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup during his time at Old Trafford, Ten Hag was dismissed in October 2024.
A poor start to the 2024/25 season saw United look soulless in the Premier League, leading to his departure.
Ruud van Nistelrooy stepped in as interim boss before Ruben Amorim was appointed as the club’s new head coach.
However, Amorim has endured his own struggles, with inconsistent domestic form leaving United in the bottom half of the table.
Erik ten Hag keen on Juventus job
Now, Ten Hag is looking to make a swift return to management.
According to talkSPORT, he is “keen” on taking over at Juventus this summer.
Juventus recently dismissed Thiago Motta and appointed Igor Tudor as an interim coach until the end of the season.
While Ten Hag had been linked with a return to the Netherlands, he is now eyeing the job in Turin instead.
Reports in Italy suggest he will face competition from Roberto Mancini, Stefano Pioli, and Gian Piero Gasperini.
Ten Hag could unlock former United target
If Ten Hag lands the Juventus job, it could also impact a player once linked with Manchester United.
Teun Koopmeiners was heavily scouted by United last season before he eventually joined Juventus for £46 million.
The Dutch midfielder has since struggled under Motta, with Juventus fans questioning how he has been deployed.
However, Ten Hag’s appreciation for Koopmeiners’ skill set could help revive his career in Turin.
Even before a permanent appointment, Tudor is expected to use Koopmeiners in a more advanced role.
Should Ten Hag take over, Juventus may finally see the best of a player United once considered signing.
