Manchester United have now parted ways with Erik ten Hag after a prolonged period of disappointing performances.
The Red Devils currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League, after having crashed out of the Champions League group stage last season and finished eighth in the Premier League.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe decided to stand by ten Hag at the start of the summer, even extending his contract and agreeing to £200 million of transfer signings to make the project work under ten Hag.
However, a dismal start to the season put ten Hag back in the firing line during the October international break, where he once more avoided the chop.
Now, only two weeks later, the Dutchman is gone with United having only won four of their fourteen matches across all competitions.
Whilst injuries and refereeing injustices played a part in United’s results, the United executive team couldn’t ignore the failures that were within ten Hag’s control.
His odd rotation policy which saw Marcus Rashford be benched after scoring three goals in two games, a lack of defining play style, and the lack of Manuel Ugarte’s game time despite their priority pursuit of the Uruguayan.

However, Erik ten Hag is now blaming three of his senior players for his release from the club.
Erik ten Hag feels let down by three key players
Reports from Jeremy Cross have claimed that Erik ten Hag is blaming Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Antony for him ultimately getting sacked.
The Dutchman feels let down by the trio, with Casemiro and Antony being brought to Old Trafford during his tenure, with the club overpaying for both.
Marcus Rashford had an incredible first season under ten Hag however faltered last season. This season though, the England international has shown glimpses of his former self, making ten Hag’s benching of the star more confusing once he was getting on the scoresheets again.
Casemiro, much like Rashford, had a great first season, however, last year was routinely played out of position, with the Brazilian criticising the manager’s selection and play style as highlighting and exposing his weaknesses.
Whereas Antony has failed to deliver from the moment he arrived at Old Trafford, making the mega money spent on him extremely questionable.
