The Nigerian equities market began the week on a negative note on the trading floor of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on Monday, November 25, 2024, as investors lost N123bn.
This followed a dip in the share prices of stocks like NSLTECH, DAARCOMM, and AUSTINLAZ amongst others on the trading floor.
After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization decreased to N59.169 trillion from N59.292 trillion recorded by the bourse on Friday last week.
The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) decreased to 97,626.27 from 97,829.02 recorded the previous trading day.
The market breadth was negative as 27 stocks advanced and 29 stocks declined, while 67 stocks remained unchanged in 10,464 deals.
HMCALL, SUNUASSUR, and NCR led other gainers with 10%, 9.81% and 9.72% growth each in share prices to close at N5.61, N3.47, and N4.74 from the previous N5.10, N3.16 and N4.32 per share.
NSLTECH, DAARCOMM, and AUSTINLAZ led other price decliners with 9.84%, 9.68%, and 9.40% decline each in share prices to close at N0.55, N0.56, and N2.41 from the previous N0.61, N0.62 and N2.66 per share.
On the volume index, FBNH led trading with 245 million shares in 574 deals followed by HMCALL which traded 47 million shares in 21 deals.
TANTALIZER traded 35 million shares in 723 deals.
On the value index, FBNH topped as the securities traded stock worth N6.2 billion in 574 deals followed by UBA which traded equities worth N640 million in 723 deals.
ZENITHBANK traded shares valued at N423 million in 410 deals.
