Enugu Lawmaker Sponsors 90 Youth On Renewable Energy

The member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Chimaobi Sam Atu, has sponsored ninety youths on renewable energy installation, maintenance and marketing.

The event, which spanned many days, was concluded weekend with the participants expressing delight to the lawmaker

The event was in partnership with the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) aimed at launching a two-week intensive Solar Photovoltaic Installer Certificate Course designed to provide certification to all participants.

Atu urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the event, adding that if they utilised the knowledge they garnered properly, they would become self-reliant.

He said, “I am fulfilled that this training took place and that many in my constituency benefited. The onus is on you to enhance and wisely utilise this knowledge. This is aimed at providing our youths with skills for economic empowerment that will foster their growth.

“By applying what you have learned, you can address your challenges, support your families, and contribute to solving societal issues. This is a generational economic empowerment initiative, and it would be a disservice to both God and humanity if you let this knowledge go to waste. Significant resources were dedicated to ensure this training was smooth and effective. I hope you emerge as leading experts in renewable energy services and installations.”

The lawmaker said he would launch a follow-up to encourage the beneficiaries to take their training seriously.

Quoting him, “I will create a WhatsApp group for all of you to monitor your progress. We want you to succeed. We believe it can happen. We must urgently apply this knowledge and use it to help ourselves.”

Alhaji Ahmed Bolaji Nagode, the Director-General of the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria, represented by Assistant Chief Instructor Engr Lemi Jonathan, commended the lawmaker for the initiative.

He called on other political leaders to emulate Hon Atu’s vision for youth economic empowerment.

The beneficiaries unanimously thanked their House of Representatives lawmakers for the opportunity.

“He has demonstrated that he is the man of the grassroots,” one of them said, adding, “I’ll ensure that this opportunity is best utilised for the good of my people”
