Engr. Ndifon Agbiji Institutes Endowment Fund for Innovative Research in Faculty Of Engineering, UNICROSS

 
CALABAR – A member of the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Society of Engineers on Professional Development, Engr. Ndifon Agbiji FNSE, has instituted an endowment fund for Innovative Research in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Cross River State, UNICROSS. 
Agbiji unveiled the Endowment Fund while speaking at the induction ceremony for graduate engineers of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Cross River State, where he emphasized the importance of ethical conduct for young engineers and the pivotal role continuous professional development plays in the making of the professional Engineer. 
The event, held on April 8, 2024, at Conference Hall of the University, saw the philanthropist charging Young Engineers to abide by the code of ethics guiding the practice of Engineering in Nigeria.
Engr. Agbiji who delivered a technical presentation titled "Engineering Ethics," outlined the history of the NSE, its collaboration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and the core principles that underpin the engineering code of ethics and conduct. He also  highlighted the professional obligations young engineers must uphold.
In demonstrating  his unwavering commitment to promoting innovation, research and development in Science, Technology and Engineering in Nigeria,  through his foundation: Agbiji Science, Technology & Engineering Foundation (A-STEF), Engr. Agbiji instituted a N200,000 endowment fund in the Faculty of Engineering of UNICROSS. This fund was awarded to the student of the faculty who conducts the most outstanding and innovative research.
Engr. Agbiji, charged the young engineers to  contribute significantly to the development of the nation's engineering landscape.
