English TV presenter, Jeff Stelling, has said that he felt sorry for Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka as the forward played as a wing-back in England’s UEFA Nations League 1-0 defeat to Italy on Friday.
England lost to Italy at the San Siro Stadium following a brilliant goal from Giacomo Raspadori.
As a result, England were relegated from the UEFA Nations League after failing to beat Italy and win any of their previous five games.
England manager Gareth Southgate started with a 3-4-3 formation against Italy.
Goalkeeper Nick Pope started in goal, with Harry Maguire, Eric Dier and Kyle Walker as centre-backs, while Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham played in midfield, with Saka and Reece James playing as left and right wing-backs, respectively.
The likes of Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Phil Foden were the three players who led the attack line.
Ahead of the game, many, including Stelling, were astonished to see Saka, who has been the most effective playing as a right winger for Arsenal, playing as a wing-back for the Three Lions against Italy.
In a tweet via his Twitter handle, Stelling wrote, “Ok not so good! I agree. Feel sorry for Bukayo Saka. Whats he doing as LWB ? It is a bit of a mess!”
