England recorded a 5-3 penalty shootout win over Switzerland to qualify for the 2024 European Championship semi finals.
The regulation time ended 1-1 and the extra time failed to produce goals.
Breel Embolo gave Switzerland the lead in the 75th minute before Bukayo Saka scored a stunner from outside the box to make it 1-1 which forced the tie into extra time.
The Three Lions had the last laugh in the shootout with Trent Alexander-Arnold scoring the winning penalty.
Cole Palmer scored the first penalty kick for England, Manuel Akanji was not that lucky as he missed his own effort.
Jude Bellingham scored his own effort too, while Fabian Schar found joy against Pickford to make it 2-1.
Bukayo Saka and Xerdan Shaqiri scored from the spots to make it 3-2.
Ivan Toney and Amdouni scored to make it 4-3 in favour of England.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was the hero with the last penalty kick to send England to the last four in Germany.
England captain, Harry Kane hailed his team’s resilience in the win, while reserving special praises for Bukayo Saka.
Kane said, “Another tough game and first of all great resilience from the lads to turn it up again. To get the goal, a fantastic finish from Bukayo Saka. Penalties are penalties, but I felt prepared. I was on the side, but I felt comfortable in the lads.

“We trust in whoever is on the pitch and the difference this year compared to past years is we have proven penalty takers – we have a lot more experience and we showed it out there.”
England will play the winner between Netherlands and Turkey in the semi final on Wednesday.
