Engineer (Systems Performance)




Job Purpose:

  • To apply professional and technical principles to provide an engineering service to stakeholders in order to ensure that broader goals and service delivery objectives are maintained.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Applies principles and techniques associated with the development and presentation of technical designs for complex forms of engineering work related to specific projects.
  • Co-ordinates and/or guides sequences and procedures associated with the preparation and collation of contract documentation and/or evaluating tender applications for complex engineering work related to the project.
  • Applies defined standards and controls the implementation/outcomes associated with specific complex Engineering contracts.
  • Disseminates information on the professional aspects of a specific design concept and provides reports detailing interventions and outcomes.
  • Applies complex engineering principles, techniques and standards to address stability and capability of electrical distribution systems.
  • Supports safety and accident prevention in the workplace in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Attends to customer and technical queries.
  • Implements new practices and technology.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Electrical or Electronic or Computer Engineering.
  • Registered as a Candidate Engineer in Electrical or Electronic or Computer Engineering with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) within 3 months of appointment.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • 2 Years relevant post qualification experience in the Electricity Supply Industry.
  • Computer Literacy.
