With the addition of Street Fighter 6’s latest DLC character, Street Fighter 5’s own Ed, fans have been keeping an eye out for a handful of top level players. In the previous title, competitors like Mouz|EndingWalker made a name for himself by not only being a very young contender, but also being one of the best around with Ed.
Now that a couple of weeks have gone by, a very solid example of what EndingWalker’s Ed is looking like in Street Fighter 6 has hit the internet. In this exciting set, he takes on the powerhouse that is BigBird’s Marisa.
The two incredibly skilled players recently clashed in an online first-to-three set. As everyone would expect, the show these two put on is nothing short of exceptional.
EndingWalker’s style with Ed so far is a patient one — until he scores an opening. We see the young competitor wait things out in neutral in hopes of landing a big whiff punish, which he finds often, then he pressures using oki that stems from a well-timed command dash forward.
From the looks of it, Walker has been focusing a lot on fundamentals with this character, so we’re not seeing a ton of crazy set ups using level 2 super just yet. That being said, much of EndingWalker’s playstyle revolves around playing neutral, block pressure from a fully charged Psycho Flicker, and amazing reactions with Overdrive DP and Drive Impact.
We won’t spoil what happens at the conclusion of this set, but be sure to watch the full thing as the final game of it all is absolutely wild.
